My wife and I were woken by thunder before sunrise and 10 miles from our morning shooting location. Excited by this unexpected treat, we quickly packed up our camp and headed towards this awesome overlook! I grabbed my gear hiked hastilyto a composition picked out the previous day, but the lightning wasn’t in the scene. While trying to find a new shot in the direction of the lightning, this heart shaped bush stuck out to me. I set up my gear and no more than 30 seconds later a lightning bolt filled my frame! After this single strike, the lighting stopped just as quickly as it begun.
